We started off our first day at Legoland bright and early with the breakfast hotel and everyone eagerly lining up to get into the park soon after it opened. (Daniel started the day with a few hours earlier, after Ella woke up at 5:30am.) By the time the family had completed the first ride, Ella (who had patiently waited in the stroller), was asleep. Legoland is designed for rides for kids 4 and up so most of the rides were accessible and perfect for Auggie. Some of them were a bit underwhelming for his older cousins, but everyone - including the adults - had a lot of fun. Ella -when not napping - had plenty to entertain her given all the new places to toddle and new toys to explore. After lunch, we took advantage of the relative warmth and tried out some of the wetter rides. Everyone's favorite was Pirate Reef, a rollercoaster/boat ride that plummeted a few stories into water tank and left everyone soaked. When all -but Ella - were sufficiently shivery and wet, we took a brief break at the hotel room before meeting up for Auggie's official birthday dinner. Everyone sang Happy Birthday and Sto Lat (one more time) and completed the evening with some outside play until dusk.
