Thanksgiving in Tulsa, part 1

We flew to Tulsa Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon for a visit to August grandparents' house. It was August's first airplane trip where he was aware of being inside the plane. It seems that when we got onto the plane, August thought that we were on a train because he kept yelling "all aboard" for the next three hours on the flight from Oakland to Dallas.

Polecieliśmy do Oklahomy do domu Daniela rodziców aby obchodzić święto Dziękczynienia. Guciowi się bardzo podobało w samolocie Ale chyba myślał że był w pociągu, poprzez całe 3 h krzyczał "All Aboard!" (to jest coś się krzyczy w Ameryce jak pociąg odjeżdża od stacji.). Dojechaliśmy we wtorek, a babcia Ewa i dziadek Andrzej dojechali w następny dzień.

Even though Daniel's brother Joseph and his wife Stephanie could not make it for things giving, Stephanie's parents Jamie and Kathy joined us as part of the regular Thanksgiving tradition. Of course, August kept finding himself the center of attention.

Byli też w Tulsie z nami rodzice żony brata Daniela.  To chyba nie jest niespodziankę, że Gucia znalazl się w centrum uwagi.

October at the beach / Październik na plaży

We made a spontaneous trip to a nearby beach on Alameda today.  It was actually one of the coldest days we've had in the last month (of abnormally high temperatures), and I think the temperature reached 72F by noon (when we were leaving).  August has been at the beach before (Hawaii), but I don't think he remembered it. Everything seemed very new to him.  He was initially afraid of the wet sand and hesitant about entering the water. Then, while standing in the water, he had a very serious expression on his face, but every time we tried to take him out, he would say "More!!!"  It was a lovely start to the day, which ended with fun family time at Dziadek's (Babcia was away for the weekend at her own, well deserved, beach vacation ..um, conference...wink, wink.)

Zrobiliśmy spontaniczną wycieczkę do bliskiej plaży dziś rano. To był rzeczywiście jednym z najzimniejszych dni, które mieliśmy w ostatnim miesiącu (mamy teraz nienormalnie wysokie temperatury) i myślę, że temperatura doszła do 72F (22C) przed południem (kiedy wyjeżdżaliśmy). Gucio nic chyba nie pamiętam z Hawaji, bo wszystko wydawało się bardzo dla niego nowe. Początkowo boi się najbardziej mokrego piasku.  Jak wszedł do wody, miał bardzo poważny wyraz twarzy, ale za każdym razem jak staraliśmy go zabrać z wody, powiedział "więcej !!!" To był piękny początek dnia, który zakończył się z zabawą z kuzynami i obiadem u dziadka (babcia nie było w domu, bo wyjechała  na nie prawdziwe wakacje na plaży ...konferencja ... )

Is this an 18 month milestone? / Czy każde 18-miesięcznego dziecko to robi?

Today, while August was playing in his room, he decided to do his laundry.  He grabbed his laundry basket, dragged it out of his room and up 5 steps into the garage, where he opened the washing machine and proceeded to load it with his dirty clothes.  While Daniel watched, he then closed the washing machine door, dragged his laundry hamper back to his room, and resumed playing.

Dziś, gdy Gucio bawił się w jego pokoju, postanowił zrobić swoje pranie. Chwycił kosz na bieliznę, wyciągnął go z pokoju i po schodach do garażu, gdzie otworzył pralkę i zaczął ładować brudne ubrania. Potem zamknął drzwi pralki,  zaciągnął kosz na bieliznę spowrotem do pokoju, i wrócił do zabawy.

August is starting to speak. There are a few words that he is very good at saying...and there is one word that he just can't say...

Gucio zaczyna mówić. On zna kilka słów "Agua", "No", "Mama", "Esther", ale niemoże powiedziec "Papa".  Już ćwiczymy przez kilka tygodni!

Jacci and Keith visit - the first few days!

August's "Grampy and Grammy" are visiting from Tulsa this week. It's been a wonderful time!  August seemed to recognize them when they came to the house and was in Jacci's arms within a minute.

We've had quite few adventures, starting with a visit from Katy, Jeff, Alex and Evan, followed by a trip to the Little Farm (again), and a party at Babcia and Dziadek's house.

Augusta "Grampy i Grammy" przyjechali z Tulsy w tym tygodniu. Jest dużo zabawy! Gucio ich natychmiast rozpoznał i był w ramionach Jacci w ciągu minuty.


W ciągu dwóch dni, mieliśmy kilka przygód, poczynając od wizyty z Kasi, Jeff, Alex i Evana, a następnie wyjazd do Little Farm (ponownie), i wizyta do Babci i Dziaka.

All the cousins loved playing soccer with Daniel, and posing with funny faces for pictures. 

Wszystkie kuzyni lubili grać w piłkę nożną razem Danielem, i także robić śmieszne miny na zdjęciach.

August was far less shy and afraid of the animals at Little Farm this time around. Five minutes into the trip, he was giddily feeding all the animals and asking for "Mo'" celery to feed them. 

Gucio był dużo mniej nieśmiały podczas tej wizyty w małym gospodarstwie. Po kilku minutach, biegał wokół i trzpiotowato prosił o więcej seler, aby karmić zwierzęta.
