7 months! / 7 miesięcy!

August turned 7 months old a few days ago!  As usual, this blog is a bit late.

During the last month, there have been a few big changes. August started eating solid food and in a few weeks has gotten very excited about all the food around him. He loves chewing on pieces of cucumber or sweet peppers, or trying the things on mom and dad's plate.  He loves sitting on his dad's shoulders, riding in the grocery cart at the store.  And, most importantly, he's starting to ...almost.. sleep through the night.

Gucio skonczył 7 miesięcy kilka dni temu! Jak zwykle, ten blog jest trochę późno.

W ciągu ostatniego miesiąca, było kilka dużych zmian. Gucio
zaczął jeść startej marchwi, i po kilka tygodni chce spróbować wszystkeie jedzenie wokół niego. Uwielbia żując kawałki ogórka i papryki, lub próbowa
ć rzeczy na mamy i taty talerzu. Uwielbia chodzić do sklepu i jeździć w wózku w sklepie. I zaczyna ... prawie .. spać przez całą noc.

Walks / Spacery

We live in a beautiful part of El Cerrito. From our house, we can see a forested park in one direction (and through the trees, we can see the Golden Gate bridge) and the cities of Albany, Berkeley and Oakland in the other direction.  We love taking walks in the neighborhood with August, though whatever direction we go, it is always steep!  There is a park a mile up the hill which has bucket swings for babies, and we go there often.  Most times, however, we just wonder the streets or hike the open space by our house, and take in the amazing views.

Mieszkamy w pięknej części El Cerrito. Z naszego domu, widzimy zalesiony park w jednym kierunku (i przez drzewa, trochę widać most Golden Gate), a w drugim kierunku, widzimy miasta Albany, Berkeley i Oakland.  W nocy swiatła z miast są piękne. Uwielbiamy spacery w okolicy, choć niezależnie od kierunku idziemy, zawsze jest strome! Jest park 1-2km pod górę, w którym są huśtawki dla niemowląt.  My tam często chodzimy z Guciem.  Najczęściej jednak, po prostu wijemy się ulicamy po gorach i ze zdumieniem patrzymy się na fantastyczne widoki.

Pumpkin Carving

Some late pictures from our pumpkin carving at Babcia and Dziadek's house (courtesy of Dziadek! Agnieszka and Daniel rushed through their pumpkins while August napped. Once he woke up, he was busy tasting all the vegetables around him, while hanging out in Babcia's arms. Evan tried his best to get August to play with him. Alex instructed Jeff on how she would like her pumpkins carved, and somehow, we ended up with 8 pumpkins!  (6 by Jeff. Dziadek's 9th pumpkin not pictured because he was too busy cooking and had to carve his after everyone left.)  As is not unusual these days, Agnieszka had to rush everyone so she could go to work for her night shift.

W Ameryce, na święta Holloween każdy rzeźbi dynie.  Agnieszka i Daniel szybko rzeźbili dynie podczas Gucio drzemał.
