Ella settled into the family quickly. Other than a few trips to the doctor to check up on an elevated bilirubin, her first week was filled with lots of quite and cozy naps, as all took turns to hold her.

Ella Comes Home, January 17-18
Ella's Mama and Papa were more then ready to leave the hospital the next day. Ella was feeding well, pooping, and passing all her tests with ease. Mama and Papa missed Auggie and were looking forward to introducing Ella to her new magical bed, the Snoo. After multiple requests to get discharged, Ella and Mama were finally cleared to go home. Jacci ("Giggy") and Keith ("Keggy") were staying with the family, giving Auggie plenty of hugs and attention, helping with meals, and doing lots of necessary baby holding, especially in the early mornings!
The next evening, we celebrated Daniel's 41st birthday with a family dinner.

Welcome Ella - January 16, 2018
Eleanor Wanda Ray Hamilton was born at Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek, California at 8:26 AM on January 16, 2018. She thrilled the whole family, who came to welcome her into the world. Big brother Auggie received a gift of soft and squishy toys to help with any anxiety related to having a sibling join the house. He was excited and curious to meet his little sister and his big cousins helped him understand that this was a special and exciting day.
