End of August fun

We had a busy summer, but sometimes, the kids just loved playing around the house...or even more, swimming at Babcia and Dziadek's house. Here are a few pictures from the end of August.

Concert in Redwood Grove!

A few days after going with the neighbors to the Ice Cream museum, we joined our neighbors for another fun outing: this time to a Nicky Bluhm concert at the Berkeley Botanical Gardens Redwood Grove.  The setting was beautiful - late afternoon, warm summer breeze, beautiful music, yummy picnic food (and wine!) and lot of little surrounding trails for little people to run when they needed a break from sitting and listening to music.

Trip to Ice Cream Museum- Aug 25

Fun trip to SF's ice cream museum with neighborhood friends!  A lot of ice cream was consumed this day...then off to some yummy Dim Sum!

Auggie starts Kindergarten!

The day to start Kindergarten finally came!  Auggie's teacher is Mr. T and he is a perfect fit for Auggie. He loves the outdoors, understands the need for kids to move and play in order to learn, and makes everything in the classroom about "superheroes".   On his first day, Daniel took Auggie to school, but it wasn't long before Papa got the all-clear "Papa, you can go now". 

Giggy visits

Giggy came to visit during Auggie's summer break.  We had a wonderful time, though Keggy was missed every day - fortunately, there was facetime!  We did a trip to the Little Farm with Clara, who -like Ella - preferred to watch other people feed the animals.  Auggie was a pro - especially when feeding the goats. One of the highlights of the trip was an unexpected close encounter with the local turtle, who adopted Auggie and Clara.

During the rest of the week, we had a nice visit with Babcia and Dzidek - no pictures except of the kids for some reason - and a visit from Aunt Sandee, Aunt Jamie and Cousin Harleigh.

During this time, uncle Jeff also gave us Alex and Evan's outdoor playhouse, which they had grown out of.  This gave us an opportunity to make a trip to Ikea, so the kids could furnish it with extra chairs.
