On one of our unusually hot El Cerrito days, we took a trip to nearby Lake Anza at Tilden Park. Agnieszka wanted to check out the swimming conditions before the annual "bacterial blum" shut the lake down. Unfortunately, though it was pretty darn hot on the sand and sweltering in the tent where Ella and Agnieszka spent the day, the water was too cold for Auggie or Daniel to swim in. They did have a great time building sand castles with some new friends (sorry no pics).
It is not uncommon for us to be returning for a day trip and arrive at home with 2 children who had just fallen alseep in the back of the car. After our trip to the Academy of Sciences, we were nearly home when we realized we could "add some time" to the car nap by stopping by our local winery and restocking our wine supply. We attempted to transfer both slumbering children into a more mobile setup, which yielded two awake children and this great photo of Daniel doing double-kid duty:
Subsequently, we picked up a bottle of wine and ordered some fish tacos and nachos from a visiting Taco truck and enjoyed the view. Auggie is unhappy in this picture because our food is covered with jalepenos.
