We arrived in Oklahoma after 4 days/3 nights of driving. The kids were thrilled to see their grandparents. Giggly had gifts prepared for every day of their stay up to Christmas day, so there was a fun surprise every morning. Auggie - truly Giggy's grandson - had secretly prepared boxes of gifts for G&K and A&D and handed them out the first night as well. He was kind enough to include Ella on the surprise so she could proudly explain the gifts to her grandparents.
There was lots of quite time, play time and exploring. We got lucky with the weather and the kids spent a lot of time outside. Ella explored the back yard, rode her bike and chased after Auggie. Auggie played football, climbed trees and recruited his sister to collect large buckets of acorns from the neighbor's lawn.
Auggie and Agnieszka even found some time to go climbing at the local gym, before Agnieszka had to fly back to work for the holidays
On Christmas morning, the kids waited patiently for a decent hour, before opening presents. Agnieszka was back in California, finishing a night shift, and got to watch the gift opening on Facetime.
Afterwards, Ella got dressed in her beautiful Christmas dress and....
...promptly went to ride her new scooter!
The rest of the week was filled with visits to local parks and many hours playing with their new presents.
Before leaving for our drive back, we got to celebrate Keith and Ella's birthdays a little early.
