We began our new year with a trip to the local Lafayette Reservoir for fishing, kayaking and playground play with our friends.  Ella was not a fan of the kayaking and quickly returned to dry land.  Auggie took her place after Daniel stabbed himself with a new fishing knife and all attempts to catch fish were aborted.  Fortunately, the kids all loved the playground. 

Later that week, had a goodbye dinner with Jacci.  Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of grownups...  Ella did love getting to sit with the big kids and was at the table long before the meal began.

After that, there was more park play and home play, with the kids doing a great job including Ella in all the fun.

With the chilly days, we got to break open Ella's collection of hats and try them all on for fun!

On Ella's birthday, she woke up bright and early - as usual - and a had a nice morning with Papa.  After school and work, it was burrito night and we celebrated Ella's birthday with cake from the Shang Kee bakery.  Ella liked the frosting, but could not finish her piece.
