The next weekend, Agnieszka managed to make it home by 5pm and we got to take a rare hike in our open space. It was a lucky decision, because a few days later, a massive wildfire would start in Butte County several hundred miles north of us, which would send smoke to the Bay Area and confine all kids indoors for the next 7-10 days.
Later in the week, Ella and Agnieszka got to meet up with one of our favorite family friends, Susan.
